Victorian Kitchen Renovation, Jamaica Plain

The owner of this 1870s Victorian in Jamaica Plain has been gradually restoring his home to its original grandeur. When it came time to renovate the kitchen, he wanted to create a space befitting the original Victorian charm but also bring in a cozy and relaxed atmosphere with modern functionality. The goal was to produce an English farmhouse kitchen using a mixed pallet of colors and textures. This kitchen features striking marble counters, a mixture of walnut and painted cabinetry, and pieces designed to house modern appliances while appearing furniture-like. Reclaimed heart pine was used to recreate the original kitchen flooring.
