The owners of this unique brick veneered Newton property had a number of goals for this renovation. First and most importantly, they wished to create an independent living space for a disabled family member, allowing a fully accessible suite in a traditional building setting. At the same time they hoped to connect the living space to the yard for more at-home family gathering and entertaining. The modern addition in the back of the property featured a new accessible entrance, a separate kitchenette and accessible living spaces, and access to the new rear deck. The deck connects the new kitchen to new landscaping in the backyard.
