This early 20th century Cambridge house renovation featured a full modernization of all of the mechanical systems, a new interior stair from basement to attic, a new kitchen, and new bathrooms. During renovations, careful respect was paid to the traditional elements and beauty of the existing building so that the additions feel as though they have always been there. Period millwork was retained and restored and built-ins in the kitchen, eating area, pantry, and dining rooms were updated to seamlessly mesh with original elements. Fabric and design choices also enhanced the blending of new and old. Most importantly, this project featured the harmonious collaboration of the architects, designers, clients and builders — making for one of the most enjoyable and memorable projects of recent years.
